Silat Weapon - Pendekar Sanders Designed Pedang

Back around 2020 I introduced the Pendekar Sanders designed pedang. I designed this after having collected and practiced with many original pedangs. I studied the blade shapes, sizes, grinds on the blade, balance points, and created one of the most beautiful brass flower petal-water buffalo horn shape guards ever.  I added a highly detailed carved garuda horn and pinned on antler handle to complement it. Even the maker in Indonesia at the time was astounded at the finished product with its feel of lightness and speed in the hand with beauty. His comment was “what a pedang this is."

After getting one order and having those blades quickly bought up by my students that maker was no longer able to go on and so the design lay dormant. I still, of course, have mine and have searched for a suitable maker who would take the exact measures of my design and replicate it, special blade grind, heavy back spine, and all for our pedang work we call the blade within the body. This is as taught on Pedang 1 and 2 DVDs I made, a beautiful combative and body educating manner of using a sword like no other.

I have had a few made that were very good but still not exactly all the same, until now.
I can now fully say the original design has been equaled. Not made through words of a middle man to assembly line worker bees he hires out, but one man and using the old ways. I was able to get photos and video of him each day hammering and shaping the blade, made to exact measurements of mine I provided and he in turn made a scaled drawing to show for approval before it went to steel.

It is, from handle to tip correct in all details, proper hollow ground like blade, balance area, and lightweight, a fully pined on antler handle, perfect guard and all details as I desired. In this model, even a better case is now produced, which is not just wood but wood with a beautiful overlay of hand-stitched leather and a brass-end tip.

If I lose this guy the blade goes back in hiding again, it's been 20 years since I could offer another to everyone, do not hesitate to order if you want the finest handmade super-fast handling pedang you ever had.

Here are some shots of the steel being worked into the final product.
