January Florida Seminar
I wanted to let every one know that I just returned from Florida where we had a fantastic seminar Hosted by Guru Besar Darren Felsot of Jupiter Florida. Students and teachers traveled from all across the country to attend a beautiful outdoor seminar in Sunny Florida. We even had a large tent put up to give us shade, but the weather was perfect and clear. The subject of this seminar was decoding the Cimande seated Jurus so they became applicable in fast fluid seamless moves. I can tell you that this decoding took time but now I can completely see how many of the original moves taught to me by Guru Malter, from Master Wetzel contained albeit in a veiled format, the essence of many of the various seated Jurus. Here we see two divergent ways to impart the use of these Jurus. On one hand Master Wetzel taught the moves which the Jurus "ride" as a way to sneak in the blow the Juru teaches, without ever showing the Juru. In Indonesia one finds most of the teachers only showing the basic application of the Juru itself, followed by a simplistic standing version. In this standing version some ideas of angles are expressed but the way to make it invisible to the attacker is absent in what I have seen as taught in the villages. It would appear to the casual onlooker we were dealing with two different concepts, such as the Jurus are so veiled in the moves they can’t easily be seen, but of course that is the point of hiding them in the moves in the first place. Once the code is found and the two are linked everyone who has seen either side is at once amazed at how they fit naturally together like two missing pieces of a puzzle. I can guarantee that our students now understand how to effectively fight with the Cimande Jurus as very few who ever travel to Indonesia on their own will ever grasp. I see so many just doing the Juru in a sort of 1, 2 3, manner and sometimes a bit robotic and it is too bad they believe they now have something they can fight with. If they do try and fight with it like that what you end up with can be very stiff, and easy to see and counter. Once the code is applied and the Juru linked to the moves a whole new thing emerges that is very hard to fight and counter. The student flows from Juru to Juru carried by the appropriate type of move to have that Juru application in a instantly ready format to flash out. Now we have the fascinatingly deadly aura Master Wetzel spoke of. You can’t have deadly without the fascinating portion in this art. This is how the animals meld into the soup as well and of course now that we have shown the Real Mas Jud relatives and living students fight with Tiger, Monkey, Crane and the secret family Snake system that part is no longer in question. I can report that from what I saw at this seminar Guru Besar Jerry Jacobs and Guru Besar Darren Felsot have proven at this seminar that they are light years ahead of anyone who has not been in the system for the last few years. The level they have shown now would completely walk through anyone of our old students from some years back who have left us as the art and the current students have progressed at that much speed. I can only say that those who have stayed the course have risen to heights the others never would have dreamed possible and our very best fighters and teachers from the past would only measure up to middle grade students at the moment. I look forward to my Irish Seminar this May and to the equal progression we have seen in Europe and the rapidly expanding countries that now practice Pukulan Cimande Pusaka.
